Reinforced Concrete – Axial Bending Combined uniaxial load

With RC_ABC it is possible to calculate Bending moment-curvature (MX) diagrams and Bending moment-axial load PM Domains for any rectangular and T cross section uniaxial load.

The software can refer to both the current Italian Building Code NTC2008 or any other Code by means of customization of the mechanical properties of materials. It adopts an optimized calculation by an extension of the Stress-Block theory starting from the elastic behavior of the sections, also including the post-peak softening or the effect of confinement in a simple and direct way.

The innovative aspects of the proposed software are:
  • The concrete in tension can be included (while it is generally neglected in other software);
  • It accounts directly in the definition of the constitutive law of concrete for the beneficial effects of the confinement (constitutive law is elasto-hardening or elasto-softening);
  • The influence of fracture energy for concrete in tension is included;
  • The buckling phenomenon for reinforcing bars is included (behavior characterized by the slenderness ratio parameter depending on the spacing of the stirrup and the diameter of the longitudinal bars).

 
 
A complete tutorial in the software package describes step by step this application. The software provides the results directly in Microsoft Excel (.xlsx and .xls) and text (formatted .txt) format.
.NET Framework 4 is required for the proper operation of the program, available on the Microsoft website.
