The volume Assessment of the Class of Attention Associated with Hydraulic Risk and Operational Manual Supporting Level 3 has been published
This volume is dedicated to the assessment of the Class of Attention (CdA) associated with hydraulic risk for existing bridges, addressed through a rigorous approach strongly oriented toward practical application, in line with the multi-level framework of the Guidelines. The text brings together the contributions developed within Task 5.3, with the aim of providing a clear and shared methodological framework for analyzing the interactions between crossing infrastructures and watercourses. It considers, in an integrated manner, both overtopping phenomena due to insufficient hydraulic clearance and localized and general scour at the foundations of piers and abutments. From this perspective, hydraulic risk is treated as the result of the combination of susceptibility, vulnerability, and exposure factors, adapting the concepts of hazard to the specific characteristics of river-related phenomena.
