The volume Instrumental Monitoring of Bridges has been published
This volume is dedicated to the instrumental monitoring of existing bridges, conceived as a key component of the process of knowledge acquisition, assessment, and risk management, in line with the performance-based and management-oriented approach promoted by the Guidelines. The text provides an overview of the criteria and methodologies for designing monitoring systems, with particular attention to the definition of knowledge objectives, the selection of the physical quantities to be measured, the choice of sensors, and the configuration of data acquisition and transmission architectures. Monitoring is thus interpreted as an integrated system, designed according to the structural characteristics of the asset, its operating conditions, and the expected deterioration mechanisms.
