The volume Load Testing Procedures Supporting the Safety Assessment of Existing Bridges has been published
This volume is dedicated to the development of load testing procedures aimed at supporting the safety assessment of existing bridges, with particular reference to cases characterized by high levels of uncertainty, limited availability of design documentation, and reduced resources for advanced investigations and modeling. The text presents load testing not only as a diagnostic tool but also as a verification procedure based on concepts of structural reliability, capable of providing a lower-bound estimate of the structure’s load-carrying capacity with respect to traffic loads.
