On 25 June 2026, as part of WMF – We Make Future, taking place at BolognaFiere, the thematic stage “AI for Civil Engineering – Reality, Perspectives and Visions of an Announced Revolution” will be held. The event is promoted and organized by ReLUIS, AI4I, and ARTISTE – International Association for Artificial Intelligence in Structural Engineering.
The event will provide an important opportunity for dialogue among the worlds of research, professional practice, industry, and institutions on the profound transformations that artificial intelligence is bringing to the construction and civil engineering sectors. The discussion will focus on strategic topics such as structural design, infrastructure monitoring, data management and analysis, safety assessment, and the optimization of decision-making processes. The aim is to explore the opportunities offered by emerging technologies, their current limitations, and future development prospects.
The program includes a keynote address by Prof. Mauro Dolce, President of ReLUIS, entitled “Vision – The Challenges of Structural Engineering”, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in the evolution of structural engineering and its implications for reliability, safety, construction quality, and decision support.
The event will also feature a technical round table, moderated by Prof. Domenico Asprone (University of Naples Federico II – ReLUIS), bringing together leading experts to discuss the latest applications of AI in civil engineering. In addition, an institutional round table will address the strategic, regulatory, and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence in the construction sector.
Through its participation in an internationally significant event such as WMF 2026, ReLUIS reaffirms its commitment to promoting scientific and technological innovation and its role as a qualified interlocutor in the dialogue between research, institutions, and technical professions.
