Earthquake Engineering by the Beach II

A Workshop on Seismic Risk of Civil Infrastructures
Villa Orlandi, Anacapri, Italy – June 8-10, 2013

The Workshop
The theme of the workshop is Seismic Risk of Civil Infrastructures. Conferences are increasingly becoming events attended by hundreds, when not thousands of people. The usefulness of these events is questionable, in most cases. The underlying idea of this workshop is that by limiting the number of presenters and extending the presentation time, each researcher should be allowed to present research relating to the workshop theme without having to rush between parallel sessions and receiving critical attention and constructive comments from colleagues. During each session at most five presentations will be given and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussions, in between presentations, as well as at the end of the session itself.

Attendees
First Last Institution Country
Helen Crowley Global Earthquake Model Foundation Italy
Matjaz Dolsek University of Ljubljana Slovenia
Leonardo Duena-Osorio Rice University USA
Paolo Franchin University of Rome La Sapienza Italy

Venue
The workshop will take place at the International Centre for Scientific Culture of the University of Naples Federico II: Villa Orlandi (Anacapri, Capri, Italy). The travel directions from Naples to Anacapri and your hotel can be downloaded as well as a map of the whole island of Capri (villa Orlandi is "B" on the map).
