Tests on steel columns and connections

Tests on composite battened columns and related column-base connections (DPC-ReLUIS 2010-2013, Line 2, Task 5, principal investigator Gaetano Della Corte). These experimental tests originate from a preceding study regarding the seismic risk assessment of an existing industrial facility, which was carried out in cooperation with the ReLUIS research line 2, task 3 (industrial facilities and lifelines, principal investigator Iunio Iervolino).



These experimental test results are used to assess the ability of current mechanical models in predicting the response of column base connections and to propose any eventual improvement or correction to those models. The tests are also enriching the database of experimental results regarding the moment-rotation response of connections in steel structures.
 

ITACA 2.0

Version 2.0 of the ITalian ACcelerometric Archive has been published on the web:

ITACA 2.0 contains about 7500 processed three-component waveforms generated by about 1200 earthquakes with magnitude greater than 3.0, from 1972 to 2013. This release contains the waveforms recorded by all Italian strong motion networks although the majority of data have been recorded by the National Accelerometric Network (RAN), operated by the Italian Civil Protection Department - Presidency of the Council of Ministers (DPC), and by the National Seismic Network, operated by Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV).

ITACA 2.0 has been compiled, under the co-ordination of INGV - Milano, in the framework of the agreement between INGV and DPC and the EU Project EPOS.
 

Seismic Risk of Civil Infrastructures

The presentation of the talks of the workshop held in Anacapri, between June 8 and June 10, on the seismic risk of civil infrastructures are now available here.
 

Earthquake Early Warning online

It is possible to access online to the prototype of Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) system implementing also methods developed within ReLUIS. The link is here (password: 'ergoii'). For details on the systems see here.

 
 

REXEL 3.5 (beta) and REXEL-DISP 1.2 (beta)

REXEL 3.5 (beta) and REXEL-DISP 1.2 (beta) are now available. Both softwares contain an updated version (3.0) of SIMBAD ground motion database.
