On Friday, 30 January 2026, the inaugural webinar of the training programme dedicated to the prevention and reduction of seismic risk was held online. The initiative was promoted by the Fondazione Inarcassa as part of the activities completing the Eighth National Seismic Prevention Day, with the patronage of ReLUIS.

The first session, entitled “Combined seismic retrofit and energy efficiency interventions”, provided the professional community with an up-to-date overview of design criteria and operational tools for integrated interventions on existing buildings. The programme addressed technical, methodological and economic aspects, with particular attention to investments aimed at decarbonising the construction sector and to the use of the Life Cycle Thinking approach to support decision-making processes. The concluding session was devoted to the presentation of case studies involving reinforced concrete and masonry buildings.

The event opened with remarks by Mauro Dolce, President of the ReLUIS Consortium and President of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the 8th National Seismic Prevention Day, who highlighted the importance of an integrated approach to seismic risk prevention.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Fondazione Inarcassa, Andrea De Maio, thanked the speakers and the Scientific and Technical Committee for the high quality of the contributions presented.

The webinar recorded 9,175 registrations, confirming the strong interest of the professional community in the topics addressed.

The training programme will continue with two further sessions, scheduled for Friday, 13 February and Friday, 27 February 2026, with contributions from lecturers and researchers involved in ReLUIS research and training activities. Scheduled speakers include Ciro Del Vecchio, Andrea Prota, Raffaele Landolfo, Felice Ponzo, Luigi Di Sarno, Lidia La Mendola, Francesca Ceroni, and, for technologies involving structural timber, Roberto Scotta, Maurizio Piazza and Ivan Giongo.
